Guide Seal Bands
Since 1977
Manufacturing Guide Seals
Guide bands, or guide rings, as the name suggests, guide the piston or rod, preventing contact between the sliding metal parts and absorbing the radial loads that occur during the operation of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders. Additionally, they reduce friction between moving parts. Without the use of guide bands, metallic contact with the cylinder head would lead to the deterioration of the entire system.
The fields of application are numerous:
presses, machine tools, dry applications, hydraulics for mobile applications, injection molding machines, medical applications, pneumatic components, and food industry applications.
Most Popular Profiles
Thermoplastic or Elastomeric Materials
The variety of usable profiles is considerable: for a correct choice, parameters such as temperature, operating pressure, working speeds, seal material, involved fluids, mating clearances, dimensional constraints, and surface roughness must always be taken into account.
The choice of the most suitable material depends on the specific challenges of each application. Among the most requested materials are PTFE (virgin, modified, glass-filled, bronze-filled, carbon graphite-filled, carbon fibre-filled, molybdenum disulfide-filled), POM, PE, and phenolic resin.
